Agha Moosavi’s rejection revived a new spirit in the whole nation and preparations began to counter the notorious plans of the despotism and colonialism. This was the time when Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya (TNFJ) came into being and Allama Mufti Jafar Hussain was elected as its first leader. During the same era, in 1980s, TNFJ had to occupy the Secretariat in Islamabad for the sake of the constitutional rights of the nation, which forced the government to take back the amendment made in Zakat Ordinance.

Frightened of the ever spreading Hussainiyat, the colonial powers,  with the help of frequent funding, had laid foundation of dividing Millat-e-Jafariya in 1950s by introducing diverse ideologies within the nation. At this extremely crucial moment of Pakistan’s history when Millat-e-Jafariya (under the flag of TNFJ),  was engaged in a struggle to protect the true ideology of Pakistan, a few corrupt elements backed by General Zia ul Haq and his allies in the colonial powers, were brought to came to the forefront through a pre planned scheme. Government resources were made available for the projection of these faithless elements so that a control could be established on Maktab-e-Jafariya which has been a major obstruction in the way of conspiracies launched by the colonial powers. In 1983, after the demise of Mufti Jafar Hussain, emerged a crisis for the selection of a new leader for Tehreek Nafaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafariya (TNFJ). On this occasion, all renowned Shia Ulemas and scholars of Pakistan, including Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, unanimously decided to select Agha Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi (who had reached Pakistan in 1967 on special instructions of Marja-e-Shian-e-Jahan Ayatullah Mohsin al Hakim, after completing his education in Najaf Ashraf.  Ayatullah Mohsin al Hakim had received countless applications from Pakistani Shia community in this regard. Since his return to Pakistan, Agha Moosavi was engaged in guiding the nation in religious affairs from Ali Masjid Rawalpindi. Agha Moosavi had established a very good reputation among religious as well as social circles of Pakistani community because of his prudent and pious personality. He was also respected for being the first religious scholar who had challenged the evil designs of General Zia ul Haq).
