Thousands of mourners, on the call of the Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafaria (TNFJ) staged a "Bana-e-La Ilaha Mourning Protest" on Murree Road, Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD, February 23: Thousands of workers from Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqh-e-Jafaria (TNFJ) staged a "Bana-e-La Ilaha Mourning Protest" on Murree Road, Rawalpindi, led by religious scholars and officials of mourning organizations. Addressing the protestors, TNFJ Secretary-General Allama Basharat Hussain Imami stated that imposing restrictions on mourners and the Azadari i.e. remembrance of Imam Hussain (A.S.) is a conspiracy to strip the armed forces of their zeal for martyrdom and an attack on Pakistan’s ideological foundations.
He emphasized that Hussainiyat safeguards the creed of Tawheed and Risalat, Warning the PMLN government against repeating the mistakes of past rulers, he condemned the restrictions on religious practices within four walls and private premises of houses and Imambargahs, calling them a creation of satanic minds aimed at trapping governments in turmoil and defaming Pakistan. He stated that history proves that no power or government can withstand a confrontation with Hussainiyat because God, His Messenger (PBUH), and Lady Fatima Zahra (S.A.) themselves have ensured the perpetuity of Azadari e Hussain (A.S.). He further declared that until the unjust SOPs restricting the remembrance of Hussain (A.S.) are abolished, they will not rest in peace. "We will remain steadfast in following the timeless teachings of Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi (R.A.) and will not allow Pakistan to be taken hostage by extremism and sectarianism," he affirmed. Rejecting any political motives behind their movement, he stated:
"We do not have a political agenda. We only want to protect our generations and our beloved country from destruction. We will obey every command of Allama Hussain Muqaddasi." During the protest organized on the call of TNFJ chief Allama Hussain Muqaddasi, a declaration was passed, demanding: The abolition of unconstitutional restrictions imposed on new Majalis (gatherings), new mourning processions, and new Imambargahs. The dismissal of FIRs filed against Sunni and Shia Azadars (mourners of Imam Hussain), scholars, and organizers of Majalis e Aza. The rejection of any legislation that contradicts the beliefs of the Shia school of thought. The declaration demanded elimination of foreign funding for religious political parties while the Muslim states including Pakistan's government was demanded to play role in reconstruction of Jannat-ul-Baqi.

Presenting the declaration, TNFJ Provincial President Allama Baqir Naqvi reiterated that any law conflicting with Shia beliefs would be rejected outright while ending Foreign Funding for Religious Political Parties and ensuring Financial Transparency was demanded volunteering TNFJ to start with. The declaration further demanded that all points of the National Action Plan and the Moosavi Peace Formula Presented in the Supreme Court must be implemented to Stop Bloodshed from Parachinar to Balochistan.

Strict action must be taken against banned organizations without any discrimination. The Only Way to Eradicate Extremism Is Through Hussainiyat and Haideriyat.

The prejudiced Single National Curriculum imposed by the previous government must be abolished, as It attempted not only to distort Islamic Law but also to rewrite history. The only solution to the issues of the oppressed in Kashmir, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and the Entire Muslim World is Unity. Muslim Rulers Must prioritize the interests of the Islamic World over their personal gains. This gathering demands full implementation of the Moosavi-Junejo Agreement to End the Deprivation of the Shia school of thought. Immediate action must be taken by Pakistan and other Muslim Countries to Rebuild the Graves of Lady Fatima Zahra (S.A.) in Jannat-ul-Baqi and Jannat-ul-Mu’alla. Every Passing day reminds the Muslim Ummah that Nations that disgrace their benefactors and heroes ultimately become disgraced themselves. The sanctity of the Shrines of Ahl ul Bayt (A.S.), the esteemed companions, and Umhaat ul Momineen (R.A) must be restored.

The Government must not repeat the mistakes of previous rulers that led to both their political and spiritual downfall. Every sect, every province, and every ethnic group must be given its constitutional rights. The case of restrictions on Azadari e Hussain (A.S.) is being brought before every patriotic individual, institution, organization, and political party. From the Muslim League to MQM, ANP, Sindhi Nationalists, and Baloch Nationalists—From the Chief Justice to all Bar Councils of Pakistan—From Human Rights Organizations to Labor Unions and Journalist Associations—From the Chief of Army Staff to Every Police Officer, we urge that they Join the Voice of TNFJ for eradication of restrictions on religious rights. This is a matter of Our future generations and the integrity of Pakistan.

Addressing the protestors, the Deputy Secretary of Tahafuz e Azadari Action Committee Syed Hassan Kazmi said that we are not afraid of arrests or martyrdom. We have never abandoned the Azadari e Hussain even under the worst target killings and suicide bombings, said Hassan Kazmi. He said that even during barrages of Bullets, We Did Not let the Flag of Abbas (A.S.) low down. Suicide bombings and bomb blasts could bot diminish the echo of Hussain’s (A.S.) name. "Our Wealth Contributed to This Country’s development, and our blood defended it—We do not want chaos"

"If We Wanted, We Could Shatter these unjust restrictions in a matter of hours, but we are demanding our rights through constitutional and democratic means". Our love for our homeland and peace should not be mistaken for weakness. We could have taken our protest towards the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, but we value our Country’s honor and do not want to bring disgrace upon it, he said.

Hassan Kazmi said that we do not wish to please the enemies of our nation. We follow the path of Moosavi, and the path of Imam Hussain (A.S.), who removed his Ehraam on 8th Dhul-Hijjah to protect the Sanctity of the Kaaba and wrote in History That He Did Not Use the Kaaba as a Shield but Instead Offered His and His Family’s Blood to Become Its Shield. We Could Have Taken Our Procession towards key locations just a few minutes away, but we cherish these institutions and seek to strengthen them by spreading the remembrance of Hussain (A.S.) and keeping the passion for martyrdom alive for the sake of our nation. If the remembrance of Hussain (A.S.) is erased, then the mothers who send their sons to the frontlines for the protection of the homeland will disappear. Without Hussain’s (A.S.) name, no one will stand against terrorists with courage. He stressed that without the legacy of Zainab (S.A.), no sister will take pride in her brother in uniform. The tradition of honoring the martyrs of our nation will fade, and the existence of a country established through the greatest migration and immense sacrifices will be at risk. He said that we do not want to impose our beliefs on anyone, and we will not allow any belief to be imposed upon us. The protest was also addressed by Allama Azhar Abbas Haidery, Chaudhary Mushtaq Hussain, Zakir Mutee ul Hassan Kazmi besides others.
