From amongst the Holy Prophets of Almighty Allah, Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) has the honour of being called “Khalil Allah” (the friend of Allah), who took many difficult tests as it is mentioned in the Holy Quran, “when Allah tested Ibrahim (PBUH) through wordings and one of those difficult tests was extremely difficult that when he reached the older age he prayed to Almighty Allah for an righteous son. Allah accepted his pray and said, “We have given you the good tidings about a forbearing son, Hazrat Ismail (PBUH) about whom this good news was given”. Then Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) took Hazrat Ismail's (PBUH) mother Hazrat Hajra (PBUH) towards the desert on the commandment of Allah. When Hazrat Ismail (PBUH) became 13 years old, Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) saw a dream. Therefore Allah said that when he reached the age of running along with him, Ibrahim (PBUH) told his son that I have dreamt that I am slaughtering you; tell me son what is your opinion about it? Ismail (PBUH) said O father do whatever you have been ordered to do. You will find me from amongst the patient people. Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) continuously saw the same dream for three days (it should be kept in mind that the dreams of the Holy Prophets and the Holy Messengers (PBUT) are considered revelations from Allah). Therefore, he set out along with Hazrat Ismail (PBUH) to slaughter him and laid down him on his forehead. Then Allah said, “you have made your dream true and We give such a return to those who do good. No doubt, it was a test and trial and We have converted it into a great sacrifice (Fa daina ho ba Zibh e Azeem) and We have left your Zikr amongst those who are left behind. Ibrahim (PBUH) peace be on you, we give such a return to those who do good, no doubt, you were from amongst Our faithful” and when you fulfilled the trial, We have made you Imam for the whole of humankind”. Hazrat Ibrahim prayed, Oh! my Lord, make Imam from my offspring as well. It should be kept in mind that he did not pray for Prophets or Messengers from his offspring because he was fully aware that the chain of the Messenger hood and the Prophethood would end at the wisest of all, the seal of Prophets Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH & HHP) and he will be declared the last of the Prophets while the chain of Imamat would continue forever. That is why he prayed to make Imam from his offspring. Allah says, “this post and status will not reach the oppressors”. In other words, Prophets and Messengers are considered preacher of Sharia while Imam is considered protector of Sharia. As Imam acts in place of Prophet therefore whatever objective of Ba'asat is for Prophet the same is for the Imam. Allah says, “We did not send any Prophet but for the sake of Allah, he must be obeyed (Surah Nisa)”. Therefore like the subservience of Prophet is necessary likewise the subservience of Imam is also obligatory; the most important objective of sacrifice is subservice to Almighty Allah (Surah Nisa). In Islam the objective of sacrifice is subservient to Almighty Allah and it is clear that sacrificing one’s life on the way of Allah is a great act through which hearts and soul find peace; a servant of Allah if required does not hesitate to offer his life in Allah's way. Respected JournalistsMuharramul Haram is the continuation of that sacrifice, as soon as this holy month begins, the mourners and followers of the grandson of the Holy Prophet and beloved son Hazrat Fatima and Murtaza (PBUH) Hazrat Imam Hussain (PBUH) continue the series of Majalis and Matami processions, the spirit of sacrifice is inculcated in everyone in remembrance of the Nafs-e-Mutmainna who remained successful in the altar of Karbala along with his 72 diehard followers and family members and presented himself in the court of Almighty Allah. The Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) was sure of his success on which his letter stands witness that he wrote to Bani Hashim when he left his grandfather’s Madina. In his letter it was written that one who will accompany me in this journey would be martyred and one who will alight himself from me would not ever be succeeded (Kamil Al-Ziaraat). Therefore, when in the month of Rajab, Hijra 60, Yazid son of Muawia took over the reign of power of dictatorship, he informed governors of many cities about the death of his father and about the power he inherited from him and told them about keeping their designations intact and order to renew their allegiance to him. He wrote a similar letter to the governor of Madina Walid Bin Utbah and wrote a separate small note in which he was especially directed to take oath for him from three personalities. This note stated that be hard with Al-Hussain (PBUH) Bin Ali (PBUH), Abdullah Bin Omer, and Abdullah Bin Zubair until they offer their allegiance to me do not give them any relaxation. Walid Bin Utbah called the ex-governor of Madina Marwan Bin Hukm for consultation and apprised him about Yazid's letter. He advised him not to delay this matter, therefore Walid sent a message through his men in the darkness of night that there is an important matter, please come. Hazrat Imam Hussain (PBUH) and Abdullah Bin Zubair were in the Masjid-e-Nabawi. Ibne Zubair became afraid on this message but the Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) decided to go to the Walid’s court along with his relatives and companions. He left the companions outside and went himself in. Walid apprised him about Yazid's letter and demanded Yazid's allegiance from Imam Hussain (PBUH) the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) in his reply said: Oh, the governor of Madina, we are the family of the Holy Prophet and the source of the Messenger hood, Angels visit our home, Allah showers his blessings on us, Allah started Islam from our home (this points to the time when the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) while addressing the people announced his Prophethood and said, that Oh, people reiterate that “there is no God but Allah” so that you become successful), our home is with Islam for ever and will remain so (this points towards Hadees-e-Saqlain in which the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) made his will that Oh, people I am leaving the Holy Quran and my pious progeny (PBUT) amongst you and guarantee that you will never be misled if you keep yourself attached with them and these two will never separate from each other until they reach to me at the fountain of Kausar). But the character of Yazid is that he is a drunkard, murderer of innocent and respected people, he trample over the commandments of Allah, commits debauchery openly, a person like me cannot go into the Baia'at of a person like Yazid. Now we and you should wait for the time to come that who amongst us enjoys the privilege for Imamat, Caliphate and the allegiance (with reference to Tareekh-e-Tibri, Tareekh Ibn-e-Aseer, Irshad Mufeed, Maqtal Al-Khwarzmi). Hazrat Imam Hussain (PBUH), during his conversation, made his point of view clear that he considers Yazid an oppressor and Imam is the one who, in the light of the Ibrahim's (PBUH) prayer, is not an oppressor. Then he enumerated the good qualities of his family that are stated in Hadees-e-Kisa in these words where Almighty Allah says that, "I created this sky, most expanded earth, brightest sun and moon, twinkling stars and planets, running rivers and the boats floating over them, in love of the Punjtan Pak (PBUT)" The same love has been ordered by Almighty Allah in the Holy Quran in these words, “Oh! The Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP), tell them that I do not question (compensation) you for this (job of Prophethood) but that love with those who are my Holy Progeny”. In other words, Allah has termed love with the family of the Holy Proiphet (PBUT) as the reward for the Prophethood. Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) also highlighted the objective for his stand that the foremost objective of his struggle is to root out those powers who desire to damage the Muslim nation by taking the right of inheritance, Imamat and Caliphate and by promoting oppression, suppression, brutality and riot. In fact destructing this Yazidi force was the duty of the Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH). That is why while visiting his grandfather’s (PBUH & HHP) holy shrine, he (PBUH) -said, Oh! Allah, this is your Holy Prophet's (PBUH & HHP) grave and I am the grandson of Your Prophet (PBUH & HHP), You know whatever I am confronted with Oh, Allah, I love good deeds and hate wrongdoings, Oh! Allah, for the sake of this grave and the person lying in it please choose for me whatever You and Your Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) desire (ref Maqtal Al-Khwarzmi and Maqtal Awalam). In his pray at the time of pilgrimage to his grandfather's (PBUH & HHP) grave, he clearly stated that he keeps fast, loves with good deeds and strongly hates evil. Under this good and fulfilment of norms of love, the Imam (PBUH) is ever ready to present his most dear life for promotion of good and to stop evil. It is incorrect that the Imam (PBUH) did not know anything rather it is a reality that he knew each and everything that is why in reply to a question from Omer Atraaf, he said that my father had stated a tradition from the Holy prophet (PBUH & HHP) that your grave would be near to my grave. Do you think that what you know I am not aware of it, I will never accept humiliation and downgrading, when my mother will meet her father, Muhammad (PBUH & HHP), she will complain to him about what his nation did with Fatima's (PBUH) offspring and one who teases and makes Fatima's (PBUH) offspring unhappy will never enter the heaven (Lahoof). At the time of his departure from his grandfather’s Madina, he handed over a will to his brother Muhammad Hanfia in which he stated that: "This is the will of Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) that there is no God but Allah, he is without partner and Muhammad (PBUH & HHP) is His abd and his Prophet (PBUH & HHP) who brought the righteous religion from Allah. I stand witness that heaven, hell and the Day of Judgement are righteous, that day the buried persons will be made alive in their graves." In this will whereas the Imam (PBUH) highlighted his belief and faith, he also stated his objective of martyrdom in these words: "My stand is not for self-praise or negation, nor my objective is causing riot, conflict, oppression and brutality. I have come out only to correct the nation of my grandfather Muhammad (PBUH & HHP) and desire to restore good deeds and to stop people from carrying wrong doings (Amar Bil Ma'aroof and Nahi Anil Munkir) and to follow the path of my grandfather The Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) and my father Ali (PBUH). If anyone accepts my invitation for righteousness, he has adopted the path of Allah and if rejects it, then I will bear patience till Allah decides between me and those people and Allah is the best decision maker. My brother, the same is my will for you, my Taufeeqaat are from my Allah, I keep faith in Him, and I have to return towards Him." (Maqtal Khwarzmi). By doing this, Imam Aali Muqaam Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) made it clear on the day one that he will not remain silent even if demand of allegiance was not made from me because my differences with Yazid are not limited to allegiance but actually Yazid is committing oppression, suppression and brutality and is bringing out changes through social evils and in Islamic commandments and he has started saying on the Pulpit that, “Bani Hashim (God forbid) had staged a drama, no angel had come and no revelation was sent”. This was the obligation bestowed on Hussain (PBUH) because the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) had stated about him that, “ Hussain (PBUH) is from me and I am from Hussain (PBUH), Oh! Allah love him who loves Hussain (PBUH) (Tabqaat Ibne Sa'ad). On this basis, Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) settled and replied the Yazid's refusal to revelation of Prophethood through his deed by getting his head chopped off while in prostrate. Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) said that what Muhammad (PBUH & HHP) made permissible is permissible till the Day of Judgement and what he made forbidden is also forbidden till the Day of Judgement and no power on earth could make any amendment in it as long as I am alive. Answering a question about himself, Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) said, by God had we met in Madina, I would have shown you the place in my home where Gabriel used to enter and the place where he used to deliver revelation to my grandfather (PBUH & HHP). Oh, brother, people settled their thirst for knowledge from our home, how could it be possible that they would have the knowledge and we remained without any knowledge. It could never happen i.e. the Imam (PBUH) is telling that we are aware about the commandments of religion and Sharia and of their responsibilities that what they have to do (Basaer Al-Darajaat). Why should Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) not said so, he is the person of that family on which Darood is compulsory in salat. That is why Imam Shafa’ee said, Oh! The Holy Progeny of the Holy Prophet (PBUT) your love has been made obligatory by Allah in this Quran that has been sent by Him, this is enough for you being of great value that one who never send Darood (in Nimaz) on you, his Nimaz is not accepted (with reference Ibne Hajr Sawaiq-e-Mohrikah). Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) is that great personality, on whose honour and dignity, the Ayah-e-Tatheer stands witness. On this basis Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) waged Jehad in way of Allah and the blessings of Allah remained with him. He chose martyrdom with full awareness and liking. The grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH &HHP) proved through his character that: Hussain Ibne Ali (PBUH) accepted this martyrdom for the dignity of mankind and the supremacy of the religion and Sharia. As the Poet of the East said: The invaluable sacrifice presented by Hazrat Imam Hussain (PBUH) along with his 72 diehard companions and offspring was not for any particular group, family or area but only and only for the respect of mankind, dignity of humanity and survival of Sharia. That is why every human being considers Hussain (PBUH) as the source of his survival. As Josh said: Love for Hussain (PBUH) has been inculcated in the heart of faithful. As soon as the name of Hussain (PBUH) comes to lips, everybody becomes grieved and every eye starts shedding tears. Every human being likes to be called Azadar, every human being is engaged in the grief for Imam Hussain (PBUH) in one way or the other. That is why it has been stated that Hussain (PBUH) is not only the martyr of Sharia but the martyr of humanity also. Respected JournalistsThe month of Aza has begun; unfortunately, as soon as the Muharram moon is sighted, the atheist world carries out aggression against the Muslim nation under different titles. The Islamic World is confronted with one problem or the other for quite long: Afghanistan was targeted in the garb of 9/11; Iraq was devastated in the name of Saddam; Tunis, Libya, Yemen and Egypt were put in shackles; minority is ruling the majority in Bahrain, Muslims are being massacred in Burma, motherland Pakistan has been given a bloodbath for playing the role of a front-line ally against terrorism; drone attacks, suicide blasts and target killings have become the order of the day. In other words, everything is being done against Muslims and none of the Pakistani citizens has been spared. Biases have been fanned in the form of regionalism, lingualism and sectarianism and all energies are being utilised to destabilise Pakistan using all types of armament. But all sections of society and Makatib deserve appreciation for thwarting all tactics and designs of the international atheists and are firm to do so in future also. The month of Muharram is the month of respect in which the enemy tries to cause more harm to us by accusing us of extremism and fundamentalism. The motherland Pakistan is the only ideological state in the universe that is why the satanic forces consider it a danger for themselves and desire to cool down our spirit for martyrdom. Therefore, all patriotic forces are under the obligation to thwart these tactics through the practical display of unity, brotherhood and make it clear on the world that the satanic trio could not break us, we all are the followers of Hussain (PBUH). Hussain (PBUH) belongs to all, Hussain (PBUH) belongs to Allah. We will pay homage to the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by observing his grief with utmost sincerity and love while paying the reward of the Prophethood. On the occasion of coming Muharram ul Haram, I am announcing the Code of Azadari so that we all may follow it and become successful in the court of Almighty Allah. CODE OF AZADARI Muharram-ul-Haram (1434 Hijra) 1. Advance protective measures may be taken at all sensitive places during Majalis-e-Aza and Azadari processions and no hurdles may be created in them rather the processions may be concluded at their destinations with honour and respect. Federal and provincial governments may enforce such laws that may not encroach upon the rights of anyone. 2. District administrations throughout the country may be directed to avoid creating fear and harassment amongst the Azadars, organisers of Majalis and mourning processions, rather the administration may cooperate with Azadars so as to complete the Azadari rites with honour and respect. 3. No one should be allowed to take law into their own hands. 4. Religious tolerance may be promoted; preaching of all types of biases may be disallowed. 5. Stable actions may be taken to root out terrorism and miscreant activities. 6. The organisers of Majalis and processions may take protective measures under self-help basis. Help and cooperation from Mukhtar Force volunteers and Ibrahim Scouts can also be sought. 7. The people should remain fully alert, keep an eye on the situation around and immediately inform the administration if they notice any suspicious person or thing so as to thwart the nefarious designs of the miscreants. 8. All Makatib may highlight the good deeds of the Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) and his diehard companions by preaching their beliefs in a positive manner. 9. Ulema, waizeen and zakireen may give priority to unity, mutual understanding and integrity of the nation and the country. 10. The controversial personalities should not be included in the electronic media programmes. Sacrifices of Shahadat-e-Uzma and Shuhada-e-Karbala may be highlighted in full. Preaching of Munkiraat may be avoided and all types of music, dramas, and comedy programmes may remain suspended during the Ashra-e-Muharram. Irresponsible programmes may not be presented feeling the national and religious responsibilities. The print media may give full coverage to Majalis-e-Aza and Matmi processions during Ashra-e-Muharram and print special editions. The exemplary and everlasting sacrifices of Martyrs of Karbala may be highlighted in an effective manner so as to inculcate the spirit of sacrifice in people. 11. All leaders and politicians may discontinue all types of political activities during the Ashra-e-Muharram and it is binding for Azadaran to keep Azadari foremost over all other things. 12. Women may follow the seerat and character of Mukhadderat-e-Ismat and Taharat, Ahle Bait Athaar (PBUH) and pious Sahaba Kubaar. 13. Discipline and timings may be ensured during Majalis-e-Aza and Matmi processions and any step that may be against the spirit of Azadari may be avoided. 14. All Makatib and Masalak should be respected and respect of all of them may be ensured. The organisers of Majalis may follow the Code of Azadari themselves and also make it binding on others. I feel it my obligation in Shariah, religion and faith to make it clear towards the end of today's talk that we keep the Azadari-e-Imam Aali Muqaam (PBUH) most superior over all other things in which we have neither accepted any hurdle and interference before not we are going to accept the same in future. In the end, I pray to Almighty Allah to give us courage to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP), the pious character of Hazrat Batool (PBUH) and may protect the motherland and those living in it from all types of evil of the enemies. I am thankful to you all from the core of my heart and take permission with utmost believe that:
