Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO on 16 November 1972. The Convention came into force on 17 December 1975. It has been ratified by more than 190 world States under which the signs and old buildings of all world nations are being protected.

But it is lamented that the initial signs of world’s second biggest and fast spreading religion Islam are continuously being destructed by the ruling family of the Saudi Arabia since 1924. First, the historic graveyards of Jannatul Moalla and Jannatul Baqee were razed to ground where graves of elders (from the era of Prophet Ibrahim till to-date) were situated. After that the Islamic signs are being wiped out continuously. Owing to this short-sightedness and extremist beliefs based on fanaticism, important Muslim places in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Tunis, Bahrain, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Lebanon and Syria have been destructed and such steps are a huge threat to the international peace also.

The initial Islamic signs related to the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in Saudi Arabia, graves of his forefathers, his holy progeny (Ahl-ul-Bayt) and companions (Sahaba) are covered under the 10-point criteria set out by UNESCO for historic and natural places but UNESCO is continuously ignoring the protection of these places and have not included the same in the international heritage.

Owing to this inattention on the part of international community, Saudi rulers are now going to raze the place of birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in Makkah in the garb of extending Harmain Sharifain which is the cause of outrage found in the Muslims the world over. This action of the Saudi rulers is also an open violation of international laws under Article 53 of the Geneva Convention that declares causing harm to such places even during wars, a crime.

If even any Christian desires to raze the place of birth of Hazrat Eisa (Jesus) situated in Bait Al-Laham, then the Christians the world over, who visit that place even on foot, will never like it. Similarly, what the claimants of being Muslims, Saudi rulers are going to do, has sent a wave of unrest among Muslims the world over, therefore, the international community should not ignore such steps.

We request you to utilize your efforts to save the place of birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) from being destructed, similarly as the international community brought to forth for the protection of historic places of Egypt at the time of construction of Aswan Dam (Egypt) and other places of historic importance the world over and the similar strong reaction should be shown like shown at the time of destruction of Budha’s statues in Bamiyan, Afghanistan.

We hope that the international community would play its effective role to stop this religious fanaticism.

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, excellent works are being conducted to facilitate the Haj pilgrims but some of the steps are such that are becoming the causes of grief and anger against the Saudi rulers the world over.

The first of these steps is razing to ground the shrines of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (PBUH) forefathers, Ahlul Bait, and pious Sahaba despite the fact these shrines existed for the previous 1400 years. According to Holy Quran these signs are categorized in the status of Sha’air Allah thus respect to the same is obligatory.

The plan to raze the birth place of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAAW) came to the fore during the extension of Harmain Sharifain that has sent a wave of unrest in the Muslims the world over.

The colonial powers are utilizing all their power to root out Muslims from the world map. The razing of birthplace of the Holy Prophet (SAAW) would provide another chance to spread unrest amongst Muslims. Secondly, such a step would be a cause of an insult for Muslims the world over. The Christians had strongly opposed any war steps in Syria for the protection of Saint Paul. In India, Hindus wiped out old Babri Mosque by declaring the place of birth of Ram despite heavy opposition from millions of Muslims and billions of Muslims the world over but Muslims lacking any honour and dignity as they are wiping out the signs of holiest personalities after Allah.

When the message will reach to the world that Muslims are wiping out the signs of their Prophet (SAAW) themselves then who can stop them from publishing blasphemous images and which power can stop from razing the Muslim religious places in Burma, Kashmir, Chechnya, Philippines, and Europe.

Therefore, we sympathetically appeal you to go for the expansion of the Haram but no harm may be caused to the place of birth of Holy Prophet (SAAW). The expansion programme can be implemented by keeping that place safe. Moreover, you should also announce and manage the restoration of the dignity of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moalla and under the لا اکراہ فی الدین provide chance to all schools of thought to perform their worships and prayers according to their own beliefs. By doing so, you would not only improve on your reputation but it will also give a golden chance for the Islamic World to display unity and mutual understanding which would ultimately prove fatal for enemies of Islam.

You enjoy a significant status in the Islamic World owing to your historic steps. Your leadership role is openly visible because of your point of view on the Israeli attack on Flotilla ship and other international matters which is a good omen for the Islamic World fell short of good people.

The Turkish government’s strict point of view in reply to fears of attack on the shrine of an elderly person of the Usmania dynasty in the northern part of Syria the other day is based on righteousness but at the same time it has sent a wave of pain in our hearts and through this letter I would like to draw your attention to the matter that is more critical than the humiliation of the shrine of Usmani elder.

You are well aware that till the end of Usmania Sultanate, the shrines of forefathers of the Rasool (SAAW), Ummahatul Momineen, Ahle Bait Athaar, pious Sahaba Kubaar and Khatoon-e-Jannat Hazrat Fatima were present with full fanfare and these were respected and considered Sha’air Allah. Forts were also constructed to keep these holy shrines safe from the Najdis’ attacks.

But owing to conspiracy of the colonial powers, after the World War-II, Islamic States were divided into pieces, and the soil of Hijaz was handed over to the same family that had played an important role in the breakage of Usmani Sultanate and was after razing the holy places of Islam to ground for quite long. The Aal-e-Saud after coming into power, implemented their long desired plan and razed the holy shrines in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah to ground in 1924. The Muslims in the Sub-continent (present Pakistan and India) launched a full-fledged movement on the divide of Usmania Sultanate and for the protection of holy places. Alas, the whole Islamic World have raised the voice of concern against this incident, so that Saudi Arabia would not have planned to raze the place of birth of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAAW) to ground in the garb of expansion of Harmain Sharifain and continue the process of wiping the Islamic signs. The so-called freedom-fighters fed on the capital of the same country destructed the shrines of Sahabi-e-Rasool Hazrat Hijr Bin Adi, Hazrat Ammar Yasir and also caused harm to the shrine of Hazrat Zainab Binte Ali (S.A.). The chain of destruction of shrine of Islamic elders is going on by Aal-e-Saud through their stooges in Tunish, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain and Pakistan with a desire to imposed their own belief on the 56 other Islamic States.

By the grace of God, Turkey had save herself from this divide and this matter is a source of satisfaction that like other Mashaheer-e-Islam the exemplary renovation and beautification of holy shrine of Sahabi-e-Rasool Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari was done that is sign of a live nation because only the live nations protect the signs of their benefactors and Mashaheer-e-Islam. Similarly, the whole Islamic World including the Turkish nation is under the obligation to get the dignity of place of birth of the Rasool-e-Khuda (SAAW) and shrines in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah restored. Therefore, we appeal you to play your role in protecting the place of birth of the Rasool-e-Khuda (SAAW) and also stop that country to interfere around the world over the benefit of which are reaped by the anti-Islam forces. If you succeeded in doing so, then you would be able to keep you head high before Allah and in the Bargah-e-Rasool.

May Almighty Allah give you courage to serve Islam and the Islamic World and shower further blessings, solidarity and progress to Turkey.
