Special Message of Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi in connection with the Day of Destruction of Jannatul Baqee 8 Shawal 1441 Hijra

Youm-e-Inhidam Jannatul Baqi

In the Qur'an al-Hakim, it is said:

وَاتَّقُوْا فِتْنَۃً لَّا تُصِیْبَنَّ الَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مِنْکُمْ خَاصَّۃً وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰہَ شَدِیْدُ الْعِقَابِ

(And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty) — Surah Al-Anfal, Ayah 25

In this verse, Allah warns of all the tribulations from the time of the Prophet (SAAW) after his death to the time of his departure until the Day of Resurrection, due to which not only the oppressors deserve punishment but they are subject to this torment attitude also. There are those who remain silent on oppression. The commentators have written below this verse that the meanings of this verse are the steps taken in the name of reforming the extremists which lead the nation to division and corruption, the rulers and leaders. There are measures due to which a nation becomes helpless in political, defence and economic matters. The meaning of this verse is materialism instead of Islamic teachings. It is friendship with selflessness instead of Muslims, enjoining good and forbidding evil. There is only one aspect which makes the humble ones suffer when the powerful disagree.

The Muslim Ummah has been facing a similar persecution since the mid-18th century, led by the nexus of Muhammad Bin Abd al-Wahab and the Aal-e-Saud, which has torn apart the Ottoman Empire of Muslims who have ruled the world for the past two and a half centuries was disintegrated, the first Qibla-e-Awwal of the Muslims was snatched from them which the ‘Crusaders’ had been struggling to snatch for 900 years and Zionism stabbed the dagger in the heart of the Islamic World in the name of Israel and fulfilled their dream which had been unfulfilled for thousands of years and which the nation of the killers of the prophets was keeping close to their chests, and due to this extremist reformist sedition, the religion of peace and security, Islam, was accused of terrorism.

Zionists and ‘Crusaders’ have been engaged for centuries in desperate efforts to break the power of Muslims. The greatest supporter of Zionism in the world, the founder of interest banking in the world, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, passed a resolution at the Zionist gathering in 1773 calling for the overthrow of the Ottoman Empire. Guidelines were drawn up to entangle the world in strife and to seize all the resources of the world. In order to fulfill their nefarious designs, this Jewish-Christian nexus resorted to the extremist sedition that arose from the land of Najd, which was foretold fourteen hundred years ago by the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (SAAW) in written in Sahih Bukhari's book Al-Fitan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (R.A.) that (one day) the Holy Prophet (SAAW) prayed: O, God! Bless us in our Shaam (Syria) and God! Bless us in our Yemen. On hearing this, the Companions (R.A.) asked, “O, Messenger of Allah (SAAW) pray for our Najd also so that we may be blessed from this region as well).” But the Prophet (SAAW) repeated his prayer: O, God! Bless us in our Shaam (Syria) and God! Bless us in our Yemen. The Companions (R.A.) against asked him said: “O, Messenger of Allah (SAAW) pray the same for our Najd also”. The narrator says that the third time the Prophet (SAAW) then prayed in the same words and about Najd said that there will be earthquakes, tribulations and from there the devil’s horn will come to surface. (Kitab al-Fitna Sahih Bukhari, Mishkaat Sharif).

According to the Prophet's (SAAW) prophecy, the horn of Satan rising from Najd brought the centuries-old conspiracies of the Zionists and the ‘Crusaders’ to such an extent that during the first battle fought in the Muslim-centered Hijaz Ottoman Empire was stabbed in the back during the First World War under the Al-Saud and British Treaty of December 1915 playing a significant role in destabilizing it in return of British imperialism’s weapons and a bribe of only five thousands pound a month. As Allama Iqbal, said:

Ottoman Empire was divided into pieces thanks to British friends such as Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and elite of Makkah and Arthur James Balfour, the foreign minister of British imperialism, announced the establishment of the Zionist state of Israel in a letter to his Zionist friend, Lord Rothschild, in November 1917 as a result of which today Bait Al-Maqdas is under the complete control of Zionists and there is no refuge in the world for the Palestinians.

Najdi persecution did not end here and Abdul Aziz Al-Saud occupied the soil of Hijaz after the First World War in 1924-26 with the British pat on the back and soon after completing the occupation, in the first step taken by him, demolished the holy shrines of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (S.A.), Aimma Ahle Bait (A.S.), Ummahtul Momineen (S.A.), thousands of Companions and forefathers of the Prophet (SAAW) including Hazrat Abdullah (A.S.), Hazrat Amina (S.A.), Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S.), and Hazrat Abdul Muttalib (A.S.). However, Aal-e-Saud did not succeed in demolishing the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) because of the Khilafat Movement launched in India that had shaken the foundations of the British monarchy and they were forced to stop Aal-e-Saud from demolishing the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) which proved that Aal-e-Saud's actions had nothing to do with Islam and their strings were being controlled by the British government. Any way, if the Aal-e-Saud had been adhering to Islam, then they would never have violated Islamic and Qur'anic injunctions by becoming friends with the Jews and Christians and crushing the power of Muslims. Qur'an about such rulers, says:

فَھلْ عَسَیْتُمْ اِنْ تَوَلَّیْتُمْ اَنْ تُفْسِدُوْا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوْٓا اَرْحَامَکُمْ

)So would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your [ties of] relationship?( — Surah Muhammad, Ayah 22

This command of the Qur'an has proved to be true word by word in the last century. The extremism that the Aal-e-Saud laid the groundwork for by demolishing the holy shrines of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Muallah resulting in the demolition of thousands of shrines of the prophets (A.S.), Ahle Bait Athaar (A.S.) and thousands of Companions (R.A.) throughout the Islamic World. This act of declaring shrines as polytheism was against the Qur'anic text as has been stated in Surah Al-Kahf.

)[That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."( — Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 21

One of the purposes of the builders of the masjid in the cave was to keep alive the story and incident of the Ashab-e-Kahf. The commentators wrote that the use of “Alayhim” in “Lantakhzan Alayhim Masjid” is stating the point that the suggestion to build a masjid at this was given to preserve their memory, which proves that building a masjid on a resting place and shrine place and shrine of the Swaleheen is permissible and to worship near their graves is right. The Qur'an considers the construction of a masjid as a means of keeping the memory of the Ashab-e-Kahf alive and does not say that this decision is against religion and Sharia. Similarly, the fatwa of the Muftis and the support derived from the Hadees mentioned in it to demolish the holy places at the soil of Hijaz is a question mark itself and contradicts the practice of the followers of the Sunnah of the Companions, Tabaeen and Tabatabaeen.

In the fatwa obtained by Aal-e-Saud for the destruction of Jannatul Baqee and Janaatul Muallah, is based on the following Hadees of Abi Al-Hayaj:

حدثنا وکیع، عن سفیان، عن حبیب بن ابی ثابت، عن ابی وائل، عن ابی الہیاج الاسدی، قال: قال لی علی بن ابی طالب: ''الا ابعثک علی ما بعثنی علیہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم  ان لا تدع تمثالا إلا طمستہ، ولا قبرا مشرفا إلا سویتہ''۔

(Waqi, Sufyan, Habib ibn Abi Thabit, Abi Wa'il narrate that Abi Al-Hayaj Al-Asadi said: Ali (A.H.) said to me: I am sending you for this, the Messenger of Allah (SAAW) sent me. He said, "Do not leave any image but erase it, and do not leave any high grave except to make it equal to the earth."

There are people in the chain of certification of this Hadees who are considered weak by the Sunni scholars, one of whom is Waqi Bin Jarrah. Abdullah Bin Ahmad Bin Hanbal Shaybani says about him: I have heard from my father who used to say to: The errors in reading and writing of Ibne Mahdi are more than the errors of Waqi and the misconceptions of Waqi are more than Ibne Mahdi. He says in another place: Ibne Mahdi has erred in five hundred Ahadees (Tahzeeb Al-Kama). Ibne Al-Madini says: Waqi was not an expert of the Arabic language and if he used to express it in his own words, he would send a person in amazing situation the person. He uses to always say: حدّثناالشعبی عن عائشہ (Mizan-ul-Aitdal).

One of the narrators of this Hadees is Abu Sufyan Thawri. Dhahabi says about him: Sufyan Thawri used to describe the weak narrators as trustworthy and reliable through fraud and deception (Mizan-ul-Aitdal). Yahya Bin Mu'in used to comment on this, saying: There is no one wiser in the Ahadees of Abu Ishaq than Sufyan, but he used tadlis (a kind of lie in the Hadees and mixing in it) in Ahadees (Al-Jarah Wa Al-Ta’adeel).

One of the narrators of this Hadees is Habib Bin Abu Thabit. Ibn Habban says about Habib: He used tadlis and deception in Hadees (Tehzeeb Al-Tehzeeb).

Ibn Khazeema says about him: Habib Bin Abu Thabit used tadlis in the Ahadees?

One of the narrators of this Hadees is Abu Wa'il also who had hatred in his heart for Ali (A.S.) (Sharah Nahjul Balaghah Ibn Abi Al-Hadid).

On the other hand, the text of the Hadees also needs to be researched as its narrator is Abu Al-Hayaj alone, so this Hadees will be called rare (Tabasi).

Jalaluddin Suyuti has written in his commentary on Nisa'i: In the books of narrations, only one narration has been narrated from Abul Hayaj. Even if this Hadees is considered the Nabavi commandment even then it does not fulfill the argument of Aal-e-Saud’s purpose because on the one hand, it is ordering that graves be leveled, and on the other hand, it is forbidding the upper part of the tomb from being uneven. It is also against the Sunnah stated by the Ahle Sunnat in the authentic Saha-e-Sittah. There is a possibility that the tomb on which there is a load like the hump of a camel should be leveled. Other than that mention of demolishing the tall buildings above the tombs is not found anywhere in this Hadees. That is why the practice of the Companions and the Muslims of every era is not found which was made the basis by Aal-e-Saud to destroy Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Muallah.

After the Qur'anic text, the burial of the Holy Prophet (SAAW) himself in his hujra is the greatest proof of buildings on graves. There was also a roof over this blessed room. That is why Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) once suggested making a hole in this roof for rain. Darmi has narrated in Sunan as given below:

One day when the people of Madinah were suffering from severe famine, they complained to Hazrat Ayesha. Following the Sunnat of Abu Talib (A.S.), she said: Pray through the Holy Prophet (SAAW) and said: Go to the grave of the Prophet (SAAW) and make a hole in the grave so that there remains no barrier in the grave and middle of the sky. The narrator says: When the people did this, it rained so much that the green fire came and the animals became fat, until the tails of the donkeys began to appear due to the fat and cracked in it. The year was named as the Year of Fatq (the year of openness — the year of expansion). (Sunan Darmi, Wafa Al-Wafa, Sabal Al-Huda Wal Arshad).

The caliphs themselves kept making changes in the building of Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW). No one wanted to demolish the building on the grave of the Prophet (SAAW). The first person to build a wall on Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) was Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (Wafa Al-Wafa). During the time of Caliph Al-Waleed Bin Abdul Malik the wall of the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) fell. Hazrat Umar Bin Abdul Aziz went and inspected it and saw that the wall had fallen on the graves and the feet of Hazrat Umar (RA) were visible. Umar Bin Abdul Aziz (R.A.) again rebuilt the entire wall with square black stones which resembled the stones of the Ka'bah (History of Haram Madani). Abdullah Bin Zubayr, nephew of Ummul Mumineen Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.) during his reign built a building on the holy grave. The Mamluk Sultans built a dome on the building of the holy shrine for the first time in the seventh century AH.

Allama Syed Mahmood Alusi writes: It is enough for you to follow the deeds of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (SAAW) in the knowledge of the truth, which they did with the grave of the Messenger of Allah (SAAW), because it is the best grave on earth, but also from the Throne. Is better His companions used to visit his grave and greet him, so follow the deeds of the companions of the Prophet (Tafseer Rooh Al-Muaani).

The example of buildings on graves or graves inside buildings were there in the time of Prophethood itself. The Holy Prophet (SAAW) buried his aunt Mohsina Hazrat Fatima Binte Asad (S.A.), who reared him, in a part of the masjid (Samhudi). On the occasion of Sulah-e-Hudaybiyyah the first building on the graves or the masjid of Abu Jundal was built on the tomb of Abu Basir Sahabi and the Messenger of God (SAAW) did not forbid this work despite being aware of it (Al-Maghazi).

There are many graves of divine prophets around Bait Al-Maqdas such as the grave of David (A.S.) in Quds, the graves of Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Ishaq, Hazrat Yaqoob, Hazrat Yousuf (A.S.) in Hebron on which tall buildings are found. Prior to era of Islam there were stones on them and when they conquered Palestine in the time of Hazrat Umar (R.A.), the graves were in the same condition. Ibn Taymiyyah, who advised to demolish shrines and tombs of Muslims, himself admits that there was a building on the tomb of Hazrat Ibrahim Khalil (A.S.) in the presence of the Companions during the conquest of Hebron, but its door remained closed until 400 AH (Majmooah Alfatawa Ibn Taymiyyah). Ibn Taymiyyah's confession and the facts of the history of Islam itself refute Ibn Taymiyyah claim and his followers that the Muslims started building tombs in the seventh century AH.

Hazrat Salman Farsi (R.A.) died in 36 AH. Khatib Baghdadi writes: His grave is still near Aiwan-e-Kasra and there is a mausoleum built on it (Tareekh-e-Baghdad). Imam Shafi'i died in 204 AH, Dhahabi wrote: Malik Kamil built a dome over the tomb of Shafi'i (Dul Al-Islam). There was a masjid on the tomb of Hazrat Hamza (A.S.) which was demolished by Aal-e-Saud. The tomb of Zubair Bin Awaam and tomb of Hazrat Saad Bin Ma’az were built in second century AH (Seer A’alam Al-Nablah). The paved grave of Ibn Taymiyyah's in Syria is making fun of those who followed his Fatawa and demolished shrines in his name. In 256 AH, a Zari was built on the tomb of Imam Bukhari (Al-Tabqat Al-Shafi'iyyah Al-Kubra).  Imam Bukhari's mausoleum and Zari still exist today. None of the jurists who opposed the rulers' un-Islamic actions have called the construction of shrines un-Islamic.

The Qur'anic text, the Sunnah of the Prophet, the practices of the Companions and the Ummahatul Momineen, the edicts of the Ahle Bait (A.S.) and historical facts prove that the traces and signs of the tombs of benefactors of Islam have been a source of pride and blessing. Not only the Islamic World remained silent on the demolition of Janaatul Baqee, but also the human rights watchdogs maintained a criminal silence. How sad that the temples of the Crusaders who invaded Islam are being preserved as a World Heritage Site but all traces of Islamic civilization are being wiped out from the land of Hijaz. The Hague Convention, the Athens Charter, the Venice Charter have been ratified, but no one has looked at the trampling of the World Heritage Site in the last one hundred years. The first article of the Venice Charter, passed in 1964 binds measures against the destruction of Muslim symbols at the soil of Hijaz. It goes:

Article 1. The concept of a historic monument embraces not only the single architectural work but also the urban or rural setting in which is found the evidence of a particular civilization, a significant development or a historic event. This applies not only to great works of art but also to more modest works of the past which have acquired cultural significance with the passing of time.

The World Heritage Day is celebrated on April 18 every year, but in the same month of April, no one has spoken out against the trampling of the entire history of Muslims, but the hands of those who are destroying the heritage of Muslims have been strengthened. The Blue Shield is concerned about Roman architecture, but Islamic architecture continues to be trampled on by Western-funded terrorists throughout Asia and Africa and they did not open their lips; but the symbols of the founders of Islam, such as the Shajar-e-Rasool, the Muslim conquests, the Prophet's (SAAW) family, and the Companions and Ummahatul Momineen, are being destroyed with each passing year. International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) have been a victim of hypocrisy because the Muslims themselves have never raised their voice for the restoration of their monuments.

It is Allah's decision that a nation that commits profanity and humiliation of Sha’air Allah, he deserves defame and disappointment. Muslims are on the decline owing to the rudeness of Sha’air Allah and their relics. The only way out of this is to get the dignity of all holy places that were destroyed on the soil of Hijaz are restored that include Sha’air Allah in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Muallah, Shajar-e-Rasool (SAAW), the place of birth of the Rasool (SAAW), place of Companions and all the memories and symbols of the Nabavi era.

The Tehreek Nifaz Fiqh-e-Jaffaria has been protesting peacefully for the last four decades against the desecration of the graves of the benefactors of Islam, especially the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (S.A.). Every Muslim and believer is urged to take part in the global protest against the oppression of the graves of Islam and this conspiracy to demoralize the Muslims and to save their worldly and otherworldly salvation for here and the Hereafter.

Do not forget the divine warning of those who remain silent on the demolition of Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Muallah that whoever is silent on the blasphemy of the celebrities of Islam will also deserve the same punishment which is the destiny of the oppressors. And the end of the oppressors is nothing but disgrace.

We are here to explain the good and the bad.

Wassalam,

Khakpae Azadaran-e-Baqee,

Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi
