Allah Almighty says in Surah An-Nisa:
And We did not send any
messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when
they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and
asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness
for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and
Merciful. (Sura An-Nisa, Ayah 64)
Ibn
Teemya's pupil Rashid Hafiz Amad-ud-Din Abu Al-Fida Ibn Kaseer,
describing the interpretation of this verse states:
It is narrated by Utabi that
I was sitting beside the holy grave of Holy Prophet (SAAW). A
villager came there and said: “Assalam-o-Alaikum Ya Rasoolullah! I
have heard that it is your saying that: "And (O Habib SAAW!) if
those who had carried out oppression against their souls, had
appeared before you, and would had sought forgiveness from Allah,
and the Holy Prophet (SAAW) would also had sought forgiveness for
them, then they would have found Him Relenting and Kind on the basis
of this source and intercession. I have come to you by repenting on
my sins and making you my recommender in from of my Allah.” Then he
read these couplets:
O, the best of the buried
people! Owing to which the fields and the tales have become good, my
life is sacrificed on the tomb wherein the Holy Prophet (SAAW) is
resting, wherein forgiveness, and generosity is resting.
Utabi sates that Arabi has
returned and I went into sleep, I performed the Ziarat of Nabi
Kareem (SAAW) in my dream. He (Nabi Akram SAAW) was telling me:
“Utabi! Arabi is telling the truth, so you may go and deliver him
the good news that Allah Has forgiven his sins.” (Tafseer Al-Quran
Al-Azeem, Ibne Kaseer). One should know that Ibne Kaseer is buried
in Damascus along with Ibne Teemya. Bringing this event into writing
by Ibne Kaseer proves that the elderly scholar and Mufassir believed
in achieving forgiveness from the Qabar-e-Rasool (SAAW).
In connection with the above
mentioned Ayah, Abu Abdullah Muhammad Bin Ahmed Bin Abu Bakr known
as Imam Qartabi states in his commentary, that:
“Hazrat Ali (KAW) has said:
When we were finished with the burial of Rasool Allah, a villager
came and fell down near the holy grave, and started putting the
earth of the holy grave on his head and while profusely shedding his
tears and reciting the Ayah said
that Allah Has promised in this Ayah that if a sinner presents
himself before the Rasool (SAAW) and Rasool (SAAW) does pray for his
forgiveness, then he will be forgiven. That's why I've come to you
that you may pray for my forgiveness. Those who were present at that
time there stated that in his reply a voice came out from the
Roza-e-Aqdas (قد غفرک)
i.e. you have been forgiven. (Bahr-e-Moheet, Tafseer Maaraf
Al-Quran, with reference Al-Qurtabi, Fasl Al-Khatab, Al-Majlis Laben
Abd Al-Bar, Al-Jamoh Lil Audi).
It is
cited from Imam Muhammad Baqar (A.S.) in Kitab Al-Munaqib that some
sin was committed by a person in the era of Holy Prophet (SAAW). He
remained in hiding for several days. Then he came to Madina. On the
way, he saw Hasan (A.S.) and Husain (A.S.). He put both these
Shahzadas on his shoulders and appeared before the Rasool-e-Khuda
(SAAW) and asked him: “O, Messenger of Allah! I am seeking refuge
from God for the sake of these princes.” Seeing this scene, the Holy
Prophet (SAAW) smiled so much that the glow of his teeth appeared.
Then the Holy Prophet (SAAW) said, “Go, you are free.” Then the Holy
Prophet (SAAW) said to Imam Hasan (A.S.) and Imam Husain (A.S.): “I
have accepted your recommendation for this sinful person.” Allah
Almighty revealed this verse on this occasion:
ولوانھم اذظلموا ۔ ۔ ۔
رحیما.
And it was written in the
history, that the Holy Prophet (SAAW), by the means of his
grandchildren, he got forgiveness for a sinner.
"Once the people of Madina
faced acute drought, they complained to Hazrat Ayesha (R.A.). The
Ummul Momineen (R.A.) remembered the Sunnat of Syedul Batha
Amm-e-Rasool (SAAW) Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S.) that once there was
severe drought in Makkah on which a delegation of the Arab Sardars
and elite gathered at the door of Hazrat Abu Talib (A.S.) and
requested him that ‘O, the chain of Ibrahim generation and abstract
of the Ismaili generation, help us get rid of this punishment’ and
he took his minor nephew Muhammad Mustafa (SAAW) on the hill-top and
prayed on which it started raining. Ummul Momineen (R.A.) knew that
Rasool (SAAW) was still the source of Abr-e-Rehmat (rain) that is
why she said, ‘Go to the holy grave of the Rasool (SAAW) and open a
ventilator from there towards the sky so that nothing remains
between the holy grave and the sky. It is stated that as soon it was
done the heavy rain appeared, immense greenery grew up and camels
became so fat (it appeared) as they would blast with the fat in
their bodies. So this year was named as "Aam Al-Fataq (the year of
greenery and expansion)”. (Sunn Darmi, Ibn Jauzi)
In Sahih Bukhari, it is
stated that Abdullah Ibn Umar used to recite this couplet of Hazrat
Abu Talib (A.S.) and used to say that the Holy Prophet Muhammad
Mustafa’s (SAAW) fair colour that owing to his face prayer is made
to the rain clouds to send rain, he is the supporter of orphans and
abode of the widows.
It proved that the Holy
Prophet (SAAW) was the source of forgiveness in his life also, and
afterwards, his mausoleum is also a means of forgiveness, and the
Rasool-e-Kareem (SAAW) was the source of blessings in his life, and
after his retribution his shrine the Gunbad-e-Khizra is also the
source of blessings. The practice of prayers through the holy grave
of the Rasool (SAAW) remained the order of the day till the
beginning of the twentieth century. Whenever drought appeared and
there was no rain, the people of Madina chose a young Syedzada, ask
him to perform ablution and reach up the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) and
open the ventilator on which the sun performs the Ziarat of
Qabr-e-Nabi (SAAW) and hides into the clouds as a result of which it
starts raining.
Bareedah (R.A.) narrates
that Holy Prophet (SAAW) said:
ومن اراد زیارۃ
القبور فانھا تذکر الآخرۃ
(The person who feels
like performing the Ziarat of graves, he should perform the Ziarat
of graves as it reminds him the Hereafter (Sunnan Nisai)
In Sahih Muslim, it is
related with Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A.) that “You may go for Ziarat
of graves because it reminds you of death.”
Nabi Kareem (SAAW)
continuously used to go for Ziarat of graves of Shuhada-e-Uhad and
the graves of Sahaba buried in Jannatul Baqee and in Sahih Muslim it
is related with Abu Bakr Bin Abu Shaiba, Zuhair Bin Harb, Muhammad
Bin Ubaid, Yazid Bin Keesan, Abu Hazim, and Abu Huraira (R.A.) that
when the Nabi (SAAW) performed the Ziarat of his mother’s grave, he
broke into tears and those who were accompanying him (SAAW) also
started shedding tears which gives room to shed tears, wailing and
Matam also.
There is a saying of Ahle
Sunnat’s Imam Shafaee which goes, "Whenever I confronted any
difficulty, I went to the Roza of Imam Musa Kazim (A.S.) and prayed
on which Allah fulfilled his Hajat. The shrine of Imam Musa Kazim
(A.S.) is the healing medicine (Seerah and Tareekh-e-Ka’abi).
Khateeb-e-Baghdadi writes that glorious Ahle Sunnat ulema like
Sma’ani used to go for Zairat of Imam Musa Kazim’s (A.S.) shrine do
intermediation with him. From amongst ulema of Ahle Sunnat, Abu Ali
Khalal said, “Whenever he confronted any problem, he used to go to
offer Ziarat of Imam Kazim's (A.S.) grave, used to intermediate with
him until his difficulty is removed. (Tareekh-e-Baghdad)
Imam Hakim Nishapuri’s Ustad
and renowned Ahle Sunnat’s Mohadis of fourth century Hijra Imam Ibne
Huban relates his observations about the holy shrine of Hazrat Imam
Ali Raza Bin Musa:
"I have performed the Ziarat
of his shrine many times. During my stay in Toos City whenever I
confronted any difficulty, I visited the holy shrine of Hazrat Imam
Musa Raza (R.A.), prayed for removal of my difficulty from Allah,
that Dua is always accepted and the difficulty is removed. This is
such a fact that I have tried repeatedly with the same result. May
Allah Almighty give us death while we are in love with the Holy
Prophet (SAAW) and his Ahle Bait (A.S.).” (Ibn Abi Hatim Razi, Kitab
Al-Saqat)
As far as the matter of
constructing Mazarat, buildings and Masajid on the graves of Anbia,
Aulia and Mashaheer-e-Islam is concerned, Allah Himself has provided
justification in Quran to build a memorial building for
Ashab-e-Kahaf as a Masjid on which the Surah-e-Kahaf stands witness.
Allah is Terming everything related with His Nabi and Khaleel Hazrat
Ibrahim (A.S.) even the sacrificial animals and the ropes attached
with them as Sha’air Allah and Declaring their respect binding, thus
giving the lesson of respect to the symbols of the Aal of Hazrat
Musa (A.S.) and Hazrat Haroon (A.S.). In these circumstances,
Muslims will have to ponder that why the symbols attached with
Sultan-ul-Anbia (SAAW), and shrines of his Ashab, Azwaj-e-Mutahrat,
Aulad-e-Athaar and Aulia Karaam are being trampled in the garb of
Shariat for a century. The Quran, Ahadees, five fiqhs, their
founders, scholars, Fuqaha, Mufasserin for the past 1400 years had
been preaching the respect of graves but a violent group is
fulfilling the agenda of enemies of Islam by trampling the Islamic
teachings and has put not only the Islamic World but also the whole
humanity at risk which makes it clear that those who follow this
ideology and those who claim to implement this ideology have no
connection with Islam rather it is riot and hooliganism and the
whole Islamic World will have to unite to reject it.
Imam Ahle Sunnat Ahmad Bin
Hanbal, himself is providing the proof of making requests at
Qabar-e-Nabi (SAAW) in his Masnad by saying:
“Daud Ibn Abi Saleh says
Marvan came one day. He saw that a person is keeping his face on the
grave of the Holy Prophet (SAAW). Marwan asked, ‘Do you know what
you are doing?’ That person looked towards Marvan, while Hazrat Abu
Ayub Ansari (R.A.) was there. He said, ‘Yes, I have appeared before
the Holy Prophet (SAAW), have not come to a stone. I have heard the
Messenger of Allah (SAAW) as saying that don’t cry when matters of
religion are in the hands of capable persons. Yes, cry when matters
of religion are in the hand of incapable persons.’” (Al-Masnad Ahmad
Ibn Hanbal)
Imam Ahle Sunnat Ahmad Bin
Hanbal while writing about this incident in his Masnad did not write
that Sahabi-e-Rasool (SAAW) Abu Ayub Ansari was committing shirk
rather he wrote this incident as an argument against the oppressive
government. But it is regretted that Ibne Teemya and his pupils
including Ibne Qayyam who boast themselves to be the followers of
Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal (R.A.) declared to visit all shrines including
that of the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) as ‘Bud-itt’ (bad habit) and issues
decrees to destruct every pucca grave and buildings or Mazars
constructed over these which is absolutely contrary to Quran and
Hadees, and an act contrary to the seerat of Ummahatul Momineen and
Sahaba. This ideology of Ibne Teemya was further promoted by Najdis
and ultimately Khilafat-e-Usmania was torn into pieces for
completion of the Zionist agenda with the backing of British
colonial powers and the trains full of the bodies of those Muslim
sepoys who were protecting the holy shrines for the last 200 years
were made the symbol of a ‘lesson’ for others. On 8 Shawal soon
after taking over the control of the Hijaz soil, the Aal-e-Saud
destructed the holy shrines of Ummahatul Momineen, Ahle Bait Athaar
(A.S.), Sahaba Kubaar, and Rasool’s beloved daughter Hazrat Fatima
Zehra (S.A.) situated in Jannatul Baqee and Jannatul Moallah. What
would happen to the heart of Sultan Al-Anbia (SAAW) on this
happening who had declared the persecution of the Khatoon-e-Jannat
as his own persecution when they were bulldozing these holy shrines?
Nabi-e-Akram (SAAW) who used to express his love while profusely
shedding tears on the grave of his mother, the desecration of Mazars
of that Nabi’s mother, father, Amm Mohtaram, and forefathers would
have shattered the Arsh. The Mazars of those pious Sahaba were
bulldozed who were promised canals in the heavens by Allah. The
graves of those Ahle Bait Athaar (A.S.) who were protectors of Quran
and were declared as the ‘Safeena-e-Nijat’ have been turned into
debris. Had the Tehreek-e-Khilafat launched form the Indian soil not
shattered the British kingdom then the British and Zionist agents
would have razed the Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) to ground also the decree
of which was already issued by Abdul Wahab Najdi and Ibne Qayyam.
It is a strange
contradiction that Ibne Teemya had been declaring the Tatar Muslims
confronting the Mamlook rulers as rebels and atheists and used to
raise questions against them that why the Tatars attacked Muslim
rulers, but the followers of Ibne Teemya and Abdul Wahab fully
helped the British colonial powers in tearing apart the Islamic
World power of Khilafat-e-Usmania termed to be the protectors of
Harmain Sharifain. The British spies like Humphrey and Lawrence of
Arabia played a fundamental role in establishing the government of
those who razed the holy Mazars to ground.
The question arises that if
the ideologies of Ibne Qayyam or Ibne Teemya had been included in
the idea of razing the holy Mazars to ground then Ibne Teemya used
to declare setting relations with non-Muslims and Christians as
illegal (Haram) but it is the height of oppression today that
all-out resources of the Hijaz soil are being used to keep the
American armscrafts alive. During the US President Trump’s visit to
Saudi Arabia, gifts worth a billion dollars were doled out to them,
brothels are being opened at the Hijaz soil and music programmes are
being organized which proves that there is no connection between
Islam, Shariat or religion with the destruction of these shrines
rather this act is an insult to the religion of Islam, Quran and
Shariat and the trampling of humanity.
How tragic it is that the
pucca grave of Ibne Teemya is still there in the Maqbara Sofia in
Damascus but the holy shrines of Mohsin-e-Ahle Bait Athaar (A.S.)
and pious Sahaba Kubaar were trampled and these shrines of and that
Ummul Momineen are wailing on the devaluation rendered by the Muslim
Ummah and are presenting an open image of conspiracies hatched by
the foreign powers. Those who fulfill Sunnat of Sahaba by kissing
the nets of Roza-e-Rasool (SAAW) have to face punishment; there is
restriction to lighting the candles on the graves of benefactors of
Islam while the western culture’s cinemas and centers are
enlightened.
The world organisations have
tightened their lips on the destruction of assets of the whole
humanity including that of the Islamic World. The champions of
international peace who wailed on the destruction of Buddha’s
statues in Bamyan, Greek and Roman culture in Palmyra and the
so-called torch-bearers of the protectors of human symbols have
become silent spectators on the organized destruction of symbols of
the benefactors of the last Godly religion.
Now all researchers and
historians and the Prince of the Aal-e-Saud himself have
acknowledged that the idea of razing the shrines down was
developed in the hands of the West and the extremist ideology of
Ibne Teemya was developed in the western laboratories which is a
threat not only to the Islamic World but to peace in the entire
world. On the occasion of Universal Youm-e-Inhidam Jannatul Baqee,
we once again call upon the United Nations, UNESCO, European Union,
Amnesty International, International Commission on Human Rights, and
the International Court of Justice to play their role in restoring
the lost glory of the Islamic symbols including the Jannatul Baqee
and Jannatul Moallah wiped out from the soil of Hijaz. Muslim rulers
should give the proof of their honour and dignity and unite against
Zionists and colonialism instead of following the colonial dictation
and interfering in one another’s countries.
If they still hesitated
supporting the call of Islamic heritage, then they should keep in
mind that the next target of the Zionist ideology that had gained
full control over the Qibla-e-Awwal would now be the Harmain
Sharifain the whole responsibility of which would lay on the Muslim
rulers. Allah Himself is the Protector of Harmain Sharifain but the
story of rulers who follow the colonial agenda would only be found
in stories otherwise.
On the occasion of
Youm-e-Inhidam Jannatul Baqee, we pay tributes to those
Farzandan-e-Tauheed who are going to stage protest the world over
including in front of United Nations offices, and in western
capitals on the call of Tehreek Nafaz Fiqh-e-Jafariya and reiterate
our resolve to continue our struggle for the restoration of the holy
places till we are alive. With the prayer of the day of Tajeel of
the last inheritor of Mustafa (SAAW) and Farzand-e-Zehra (S.A.),
Imam Imam Mehdi Akhir-uz-Zaman (A.S.) who will fill this world that
is replete with oppression and brutality into justice and fair-play.
