Those who bestowed dignity and honour upon humanity, provided a strong foundation to human values and practicality to the values of religion so that humanity may understand its depths, are the pious personalities belonging to the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUT). Everything in this universe seems less important in front of their grandeur; not only do the angels bow down in front of their greatness, even angels like Gabriel (PBUH) cannot enter into their house without their permission.Those who are the reason for the creation of this universe and are the source of recognition of the attributes contributed to Almighty Allah; those who are the protectors of the oppressed world are all Mohammad while pious ladies belonging to this pious family are all like Hazrat Fatima (PBUH); one of the personalities of this great family is Hazrat Ume Kalsoom (PBUH) who is the daughter of Ali O Batool (PBUT) and the granddaughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP). Her real name is Zainab e Sughra (PBUH) and her Kuniyat was Ume Kulsoom.Hazrat Ume Kalsoom (PBUH) was very honourable person of this pious family who was brought up on the lap of her parents Ali O Batool (PBUT) and was educated under the guidance of one who was a blessing for humanity – the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP). She belongs to that pious family whose infallibility is witnessed by the verse of Tatheer: “Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.” Their generosity is witnessed in the verse of the Holy Quran (Surat Al-Insan/Man or Ad-Dahr/Time or Hal-Ataa 76:5-22). This pious family always give preference to others over themselves and left great examples of sacrifices and displayed immense patience and forbearance in the times of difficulty. It is said, “Patience has same relation with faith which the head has with body”. The master of the universe Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH) said, “One cannot reach to the depths of faith unless he has the qualities of having a knowledge of the religion, patience and forbearance in difficulties and lives his life in the best possible way in the world”. It is therefore crystal clear that the life of the faithful depends upon patience and forbearance. All these three qualities mentioned were at their peak in every member of the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUT), men and women alike, and for the same reason every one of them was at the pinnacle of the faith. History witnessed that like their father Ali bin Abi Talib (PBUH), the daughters of Ali O Batool (PBUT) were in a prominent position not only in bravery but also in eloquence. Hazrat Ume Kalsoom (PBUH) like her elder sister Hazrat Zainab al Kubra (PBUH) accompanied her brother Imam Hussain (PBUH) on the journey to Karbala in order to protect Islam. After the tragedy of Karbala, she bore all the difficulties of captivity with Imam Zainul Abideen (PBUH) and the ladies of the household of the Holy prophet (PBUT) and played a great role in devastating the oppression of Yazid and Ibne Zayad. She with her elder sister Hazrat Zainab e Kubra (PBUH), shook the public from their deep sleep with their courageous and eloquent sermons and devastated Kufa. She, while addressing to the Kufians said:“O Kofians! May your face be darkened you left Imam Hussain (PBUH) alone between the enemies in the battlefield and murdered him. You did not stop there but you also looted his belongings as if it was your inheritance; you captured the ladies of his household and tortured them, May Almighty Allah destroy you, do you know that you have put yourself in a very difficult situation and committed a grave sin, you have spilled the most pious blood and put the most pious ladies in grief, took their veils of from their heads and looted their belongings. After the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) you have killed the best men as if you had no love or pity in you heart. Beware people of Allah are successful while people of Satin are those who earn loss”, after that She read this poem“May your mothers grieve over you, you have killed my brother when he was helpless, soon you will meet with your fate which will be the flame of hell, you have spill that pious blood on soil whose dignity is honoured by Almighty Allah, the book of God and the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP). Now I give you the divine news of Hell where you will burn in its flame forever and will be tortured eternally. I will grieve over my brother all my life because after the Holy prophet (PBUH & HHP) he was the best person and I will cry in a way that tear will continuously flow from my eyes”.The narrator says that before that day no one had ever witnessed the way those men and women cried. The eloquent address of Hazrat Ume Kalsoom (PBUH) made them weap instead of celebrating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (PBUH) and they really didn’t have a clue about what they had done but the shame and disgust was in their fate.After hearing the sermons of Syeda Zainab O Ume Kalsoom (PBUT), an elder belonging to the family of Ja’afi who was crying profusely, said that the men and women of this family have honour over the men and women of other families and only the offspring of the Holy Prophet (PBUT) are not in loss nor dishonoured (Lahouf). Today the whole of humanity, especially the Islamic world, is facing difficulties and problems and are the target of the colonial powers. The chief of the colonial powers, America together with its agents, is targeting Muslim countries one after the other; on one hand Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Libya and Bahrain have become the signs of horror of the colonial intervention and on other hand Syria is being taught a lesson for being disobedient, Iran is being warned and Israel is being given a pat on its back. In this critical situation the Muslim rulers are turning a blind eye and are instead, busy polishing the shoes of the colonial powers for the protection of their rule and are being used to defeat the Muslim nation. Just to prolong their rule they are obeying the instructions of the colonial powers, should not be over optimistic since all the Islamic countries are their targets. It is a matter of grave grief that although the resolutions were passed in all parties’ conferences and in the national assembly, the drone attacks still continue and, with the backing of the colonial powers, the continued terrorism, target killings and suicide attacks are also carried on. Instead of fighting against the common enemy, all national institutions are pinning each other down. In this critical situation the whole nation will have to uphold the teachings of the Holy Prophet and his Holy Progeny (PBUT) whose pious characters are a ray of hope. The family of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUT) proved that the might is not right but that truth is might.Today when the Muslim rulers are powerless at the destruction of the Muslim world due to being afraid of the colonial powers; they will have to learn the lesson from the example set by the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUT) and will have to take a stand against the colonial policies with a display of unity and brotherhood. In this, the secret of the victory of the Muslim nation and Pakistan lies. On the conclusion of Hafta e Wehadat O Akhuwat and on the festive occasion of the birth anniversary of the pious personality of the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH & HHP) - Hazrat Ume Kalsoom (PBUH) we reiterate our resolve to continue enlightening the world, which is full of the darkness of ignorance and oppression, by putting into practise the teachings of Mohammad and his pious progeny (PBUT) with courage and determination.
