Released by Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi;

Ashura procession of Rawalpindi commenced from Imambargah Hifazat Ali Shah and Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain

RAWALPINDI, June 27: Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.), and his 72 loyal companions, was observed across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with deep religious devotion and reverence.
The central Ashura procession of Rawalpindi commenced from Imambargah Hifazat Ali Shah and Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain. Processions carrying Zuljanah and Alams from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain (Teli Mohallah), Imambargah Tyre Bazaar, and Dargah Shah Chan Chiragh later joined the main procession. Sacred relics, including the Zuljanah, the Alam of Hazrat Abbas (A.S.), Tazia, Taboot, and the cradle of Hazrat Ali Asghar (A.S.), were part of the procession.

Addressing the media and thousands of mourners at Committee Chowk, Tehreek-e-Nifaz Fiqh-e-Jafaria Pakistan (TNFJ) Chief Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi said that the everlasting sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.) had drawn an eternal line between truth and falsehood. He stressed that TNFJ would never allow Azadari to be restricted, declaring, "We can sacrifice everything, but we will never allow any harm to come to the mourning of Imam Hussain (A.S.)."
He stated that Karbala teaches resistance against imperialism and that the spirit of Hussainiyat continues to inspire the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine. He rejected restrictions and SOPs limiting new mourning gatherings as well as those held inside the four walls of homes and Imambargahs, saying they were unacceptable. He further remarked that changing weather conditions could never affect Azadari and praised the government's security and administrative arrangements for Ashura.

Allama Muqaddasi said that Pakistan was established through the collective sacrifices of all schools of thought and that the Constitution guarantees equal rights to every citizen. Any discriminatory treatment, he added, amounts to a violation of the Constitution. He also demanded an inquiry into incidents in which organizers of Majalis and mourners were harassed and called for action against those responsible for bringing disrepute to the administration.

Reiterating the stance of Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, Agha Hussain Muqadasi said that Pakistan is destined to lead the Islamic world and our role in restoring peace after the recent US aggression against Iran is a reflection of that. He stressed upon the government to also focuss on internal issues and address concerns.

He later led the Ashura procession, paid respects to the sacred Alam and Zuljanah, and offered special prayers. The procession culminated in a large public gathering at Fawara Chowk. TNFJ Secretary General Allama Raja Basharat Hussain Imami participated in the procession, while Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi addressed the gathering, highlighting the philosophy of martyrdom and recounting the tragedies of Karbala. On the occasion, TNFJ Central Muharram Committee Azadari Cell Secretary Syed Bu Ali Mehdi presented a resolution on national and international issues. The resolution urged the government to refrain from taking any measures during Muharram that contradict the sanctity of commemorating the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). It further demanded full implementation of the Code of Azadari announced by TNFJ Chief Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi before Muharram. The resolution emphasized that Muharram is not confined to the first ten days, as mourning processions and Majalis continue until 8th Rabi-ul-Awwal. It therefore called for comprehensive security arrangements for all Azadari programmes and urged the media to provide them with appropriate coverage.
Expressing concern over the repeated failure of the federal and provincial governments to establish Muharram Azadari Cells despite TNFJ's longstanding demand, the resolution described the policy as unwise and urged the authorities to establish control rooms without further delay, publicize them through the media, and ensure coordination with TNFJ's central control room. The resolution also paid tribute to the late Quaid-e-Millat-e-Jafaria Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi Najafi, reaffirming TNFJ's commitment to the guiding principles of Wilayat-e-Ali, Azadari-e-Hussain, the sanctity of the descendants of the Prophet (Sadaat), respect for Marjaiyat, and organizational unity, while pledging to continue its peaceful struggle for national and religious objectives and to make every sacrifice required for faith and motherland.
Mukhtar Force Chairman Chaudhry Mushtaq Hussain also addressed the gathering, while Syed Hassan Kazmi recited elegies and offered condolences in memory of the martyrs of Karbala. Syed Qasim Al-Hussaini conducted the proceedings. Thousands of mourners performed chain and Qama Matam, including young participants.
The central Ashura procession later proceeded through Jamia Masjid Road and Pul Shah Nazar Diwan before concluding peacefully at Qadeem Imambargah.
The Mukhtar Students Organization (MSO), Rawalpindi District, established an Azadari camp at Fawara Chowk, where volunteers of Mukhtar SO, MOK, and Mukhtar Generation served at the Sabeel-e-Hussaini. Ibrahim Scouts also set up medical camps at Habib Bank Chowk, Raja Bazaar, and Jamia Masjid Road to provide first aid and medical assistance to mourners.
To assist the district administration, TNFJ Regional Coordination Secretary Aoun Abbas Kazmi, District President Malik Fakhar Ali Khan, and their teams accompanied the procession throughout its route. Doctor Syed Aoun Abbas Kazmi thanked the district administration, mourning groups, volunteer organizations, welfare institutions, procession participants, and the organizers of Majalis for their cooperation.
The procession concluded peacefully after a collective prayer led by Sajjada Nashin Darbar Sakhi Shah Chan Chiragh, Bawa Syed Aitbar Hussain Bukhari.
