“The Day of the Journey to Martyrdom” will be observed today with religious respect

The refusal of Imam Hussain (PBUH) from taking the oath to Yazid is an eternal lesson for all those who are struggling for their rights while taking stand against dictators of their time

RAWALPINDI, May 28: In accordance with the announcement of Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Moosavi, Wednesday 28th of Rajab will be observed as “Youme Safar e Shahdat” in connection with the Journey of Imam Aali Maqaam Hazrat Hussain Ibn e Ali (PBUH) from Madina. On this occasion mourning assemblies and processions will be held in all the cities and towns of the country. The session of the TNFJ’s Central committee of Youm e Shahadat was held that was presided over Dr. S M Rizvi in which the schedule of the programs for throughout the country was discussed. While addressing, Dr. S M Rizvi said even during the most crucial period of the dictatorship, Imam Hussain (PBUH) left for the journey of martyrdom and refused to take the oath of allegiance of Yazid. He asserted that the refusal of Imam Hussain (PBUH) from taking the oath to Yazid is an eternal lesson for all those who are struggling while taking stand against dictators of their time. He said that the main source of inspiration of all the freedom movements in Kashmir, Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan is Karbala. Dr. S M Rizvi demanded from the government to make special arrangements for the programs of “Youm e Safar e Shahadat”.
