Such Democracy has no value in which Pakistan and its public are unsafe - Hamid Moosavi

ISLAMABAD, March 10: The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi has strongly condemned blast near Meena Bazar Masjid in Peshawar and setting of homes of a minority community in Lahore and said our perpetual enemy and agencies of different countries in the country were openly involved in such activities and the silence of our rulers on it is meaningful. This was stated by him while addressing a mourning gathering of Shia elite in the Federal capital Islamabad. He said the enemy was inflicting one wound or the other the day in and day out but our national leadership was active in buying and transacting political favours and saving their rules. He said the army is the last hope of the nation that is responsible for country’s integrity.

Agha Moosavi said asked if the enemy violates the country’s frontiers and sit in our cities then would Pakistan’s armed forces would remain sit idle waiting a nod? He said the government that has failed in providing protection to the nation and the country was adopting criminal silence and was not calling in the army to take control of the disturbed areas of the country while the restlessness of the Pakistan’s armed forces was now no more a secret. He criticized such a democracy in which Pakistan and its people both are not safe, therefore, he added, army should be called forthwith under the constitution to save and protect them. He said Election Commission asked to summon the army for holding peaceful elections and reaction of the army spokesman that army will provide complete security is right but the question arises that why only for elections, why army is not being called to provide complete and durable peace and protection to the nation and the country. This issue, he added, is becoming a source of defamation for the army itself.

The TNFJ chief demanded immediate implementation of newly approved Anti-Terrorism Bill. He said along with suo moto notice of the incident by the highest court, they should also take notice of the incidents of jala-o-gherao, firing, shutter-downs and riots in cities and unveil the active elements behind these activities and give them strict punishment. He said President Zardari crying hoarse of completing five years of democracy would have to be accountable of bloodshed in these five years. He said there is saying of Amirul Momineen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (PBUH) the rules remains intact even the rulers are atheists but if the rulers are Muslims and are unable to provide justice and fair-play then they will have to face their downfall. In other words, the crux of this saying is that best ruler is the one who roots out oppression and revives justice in society, he added.

He said that President Zardari should keep in mind that there are three objectives of an Islamic government: restoration of peace and justice and rooting out oppression from society; create such a society and environment that becomes the source of development; Advising people to be subservient to Allah and stopping them from violating the commandments of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH & HHP). Is any of these are being implemented, he asked. In an Islamic government, minorities are allowed all out independence and government is under the obligation to take care of their lives, wealth, honour, and dignity but they are not allowed to openly commit those things that are Haram or included in Munkiraat in Islam.

The Quaid-i-Millat Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi called upon the highest court to take suo moto notice of the oppression and brutality committed against the minorities on the pattern of Quetta and Abbas Town incidents. He said former dictator Ziaul Haq was the patron of terrorism in the country therefore a high level tribunal may be set up to probe all incidents since then and the culprits may be punished accordingly.

(PBUH & HHP): Peace be upon him and on his holy progeny

(PBUH): Peace be upon him/her

(PBUT): Peace be upon them
