In order to solve the problems by the Shia school of thought, the government must ensure the implementation of Moosavi-Junajo accord of 21st of May, 1985 - Wajih Kazmi

No one will be allowed to deviate from the basic ideology of Pakistan, address  of deputy chairman MO to the ceremony arranged by Mukhtar Organization in remembrance of 21st of May, 1985 accord.

RAWALPINDI, May 22: The Deputy Chairman MO Syed Wajihul Hassan Kazmi said that Pakistan is the result of the mutual efforts of all the schools of thought so to make it an Islamic welfare state it is essential to administer the rights of all on the basis of equality. This was stated by him while addressing to a special ceremony arranged in remembrance of Moosavi - Junejo accord of 21st of May, 1985 at Mukhtar Secretariat under the auspice of MO Rawalpindi. He said that the ideology of Pakistan is based on the principles of Islam which is the inheriatnce of all the schools of thought.

Wajih Kazmi said that in the history of Pakistan a dictator made a Coup and he not only deviated from the ideological basis of Pakistan but also tried to sabotage the Article #2 of the Constitution of Pakistan, according to which the religion of the state is Islam. Thus to encounter this evil conspiracy the Shia School of thought had to take over Islamabad Secretariat in 1980; as a result of which the agreement of July 6th, 1980 was brought about, unfortunately the implementation on this agreement did not take place.

Subsequently in 1984 the TNFJ called an eight months long agitation for the demands of the Shia school of thought at Hussaini Mahaz during which more than fourteen thousands people were arrested, in the result of which, after the long martial law, the prime Minister of newly formed civil government, Mohammad Khan Junejo made a written accord with TNFJ on 21st of May, 1985 which included separate syllabus for the Islamic Studies in the schools’ curriculum, the separate Shia Faculty in the Islamic University, proportional representation in the Islamic Research Institution, the Islamic Ideological council, the Media and all other public departments. Accord also contained provisions, which made clear that neither the procession of Milad un Nabi nor the Matami procession of his grandson Imam Hussain (PBUH) will be stopped, disrupted or banned. The reconstruction of the shrines of Janatul Baqi and Janatul Muallah was also the part of the accord.

The Deputy Chairman MO Syed Wajihul Kazmi expressed great grief and anxiety over the current scenario that likewise the previous governments, the current rulers are ignoring the problems faced by the Shia School of thought and stressed upon the government to ensure the implementation of Moosavi-Junajo accord of 21st of May, 1985 so that the resentment amongst the Shia School of thought could be removed, the current situation of the motherland also dictates the same, he added. He said that all should keep in their minds that to us the importance of the basic ideology of Pakistan is second to none and pledged that for the attainment of the rights of the Shia School of thought, the struggle will be continued and no compromise will be made in this regard. The Central President MO Malik Ali Furqani, Syed Samarul Hassan, Muhammad Hussain and Asad Abbas also addressed to the ceremony.
