The culprits who desecrated the Holy Quran and Alam Mubarik during the attack on the Shrine of Sakhi Mahmood Badshah must be brought to justice

The fake case of Khalid Abbasi’s murder registered against the office-bearers of the Tahaffuz e Hurmat e Mazarat Committee should be revoked immediately and real culprits be arrested; the shrines must be freed from the clutches of the Qabza Mafia; the shrine of Bari Imam must be completed forthwith; the illegal distribution of the land belonging to the shrine of Sakhi Mehmood Badshah must be stopped – the demands of the Tahafaz e Hurmat e Mazarat committee during the press conference in Islamabad 

ISLAMABAD, April 26: The leaders of Tahaffuz e Hurmat e Mazarat Committee Islamabad has demanded from the government to take actions against the culprits who attacked the Shrine of Sakhi Mahmood Badshah and desecrated the Holy Quran and Alam Mubarik; they also demanded to recover the looted religious artefacts (taburakaat) from the shrine. The attack on the sacred shrine on the last Friday was not any Sunni, Shia, Deobandi or Barelvi issue but that of Qabza mafia and the matter of the dignity of shrines. The government should take notice of the desecration of the Holy Quran and insult towards the Holy Prophet and his Holy Progeny (PBUT) and tackle the culprits in accordance with the law. The fake case of Khalid Abbasi's murder registered against the office-bearers of the Tahaffuz e Hurmat e Mazarat Committee should be revoked immediately and real culprits be arrested while impartial enquiry into firing incident outside Aabpara police station should be initiated. The construction of the Shrine of Bari Imam should be completed soon and it should be opened for pilgrims while the shrine of Sakhi Mahmood Badshah Kazmi should be redeveloped decently. Since the creation of Pakistan these shrines are neglected because of their affiliation with the Sadaat family and therefore, these holy shrines should be made free of the Qabza mafia and the historic background of these shrines must be kept intact and no controversial addition should be allowed that may cause any conflict. These views were expressed by Pir Syed Nusrat Ali Naqvi, Secretary of the Tahafuz e Hurmat Mazaraat Committee while addressing a press conference here at the National Press Club Islamabad. He was accompanied by Pir Nisar Qasim Kazmi Al-Mashadi Gaddi Nashin Hazrat Bari Imam, Makhdoom Syed Nazakat Hussain Naqvi Al-Bhaakri, Pir Syed Fayyaz Hussain Shah Kazmi, and Raja Ashiq Hussain.

They called upon the government that it should stop the illegal distribution (bander-baant) of the 96 kanal piece of land reserved for the shrine of Sakhi Shah Mahmood Badshah as CDA and Auqaaf have no authority to give permission of its use for any other purpose and is also against Sharia. They condemned blasts, desecration and incidents of terrorism that took place at the shrines including Hazrat Bari Imam, Shah Abdullah Ghazi, Data Darbar, Baba Farid Ganj Shakar and Sakhi Sarwar from time to time. They made it clear that they have gathered here under the joint agenda of love and devotion with the saints  belong to Sadaat, non-Sadaat and Sunni, Shia backgrounds and will continue raising the voice of protest till their legitimate demands are met with justice.  

They lamented that the construction that began at the shrine of Bari Imam five years ago was not yet completed while the shrine of Bari Imam’s father Hazrat Sakhi Shah Mahmood Kazmi Al-Mashadi that generates donation in millions for Auqaf departments is wailing for the inept attitude of the government with tin-roofs rather the Qabza mafia imposed at this shrine by a dictator was trying to devour the assets of this shrine. That is why, they said, the Qabza mafia got upset when their crime of encroaching the shrine in 2009 with the help of CDA was defeated by the Tahaffuz e Hurmat e Mazaraat Committee. 

The alleged theft of taburakaat was going on for a long time but on April 13, the Alam Mubarik installed at the shrine was set on fire on which the names of the Holy Prophet and his holy progeny, the Panjetan Pak (PBUT) were inscribed but the administration played the role of silence spectators that indicates that the Islamabad administration desires riot in Islamabad under a well thought-out conspiracy. They said that again on last Friday i.e. April 20, an armed gang attacked the Shrine, threw the Holy Quran on the floor and desecrated the Holy Alam that was inscribed with the names of the Holy Prophet and his holy progeny, the Panjetan Pak (PBUT). This incident, they said, has sent a wave of angriness all around. However, the Tahaffuz e Hurmat e  Mazaraat Committee following the saintly teachings controlled the situation and adopted the lawful path and foiled an attempt to fan riot. 

The committee members alleged that on the successful handling of the situation by the committee, the culprits staged a new drama and fired gun shots on three persons outside the Aabpara police station as a result of which a devotee of saints and the Holy Family of the Holy Prophet (PBUT) Khalid Abbasi lost his life. The administration that was hesitant to lodge an FIR against the attack on the shrine this time became active on the desire of the Qabza mafia and registered an FIR against chairman of the Tahaffuz e Hurmat e Mazaraat Committee Zulfiqar Ali Raja, Farhat Abbas and Basharat Hussain that is an condemnable act.
