RAWALPINDI, Pakistan – March 6: Spokesman and son-in-law of late Marje Kabeer Grand Ayatollah Syed Mohsin Al-Hakim Tabatabai, and respected father of faqeeh-i-doraan (jurist of this age) Grand Ayatollah Syed Muhammad Saeed Al-Hakim, Hazrat Grand Ayatollah Syed Muhammad Ali Al-Hakim has died in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq. He was 100. 

The late Ayatollah was an author and a teacher who was fully equipped with many religious sciences.  He was seen with great honour and respect in all stratums. He paid a visit to Pakistan in 1966 and was warmly welcomed by all intellectual circles; his addresses on Ittehad baynul Muslimeen were highly appreciated. 

In a statement issued from Maktab-i-Tashayyo headquarters, Quaid-i-Millat-i-Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi while expressing hearty condolence on Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Al-Hakim’s sad demise termed it a great tragedy for Islamic world and announced to observe ‘Tarhim Day’ on March 6.  

He appealed momineen to hold programs of Quran-Khwani, majalis-i-tarahim and praying gatherings for elevation of ranks of deceased Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Al-Hakim on the occasion of ‘Tarhim Day’.
