Youm e Tarheem will be observed throughout the country on the call of Tehreek Nafaz e Fiqh e Jafariya

Series of terrorist attacks in Quetta and Karachi is the clear failure of the government in establishing the government writ and inadequate security measures – Dr S M Rizvi

RAWALPINDI, August 5: Youm e Tarheem, announced by the Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosvi - in remembrance of martyrs of Quetta and Karachi as well as those who fell victims to terrorism and target killings - will be commemorated throughout the country on the first Friday of Ramadan ul Mubarak.

A meeting was conducted, chaired by the Dr. S M Rizvi, convener of the Central Youm e Tarheem Committee, to finalize the preparations for the Youm e Tarheem.  A handout issued at the end of the meeting stated that the day will start with the recitation of Quran e Kareem after the Fajar prayers at local mosques and prayers will be carried out for the martyrs.  In central mosques speakers will condemn the acts of terrorism during the Friday sermons and resolutions will be adopted to highlight the failure of government in restraining and arresting the perpetrators of such heinous acts and to provide the citizens of Pakistan with adequate security.  After the Friday Congregations peaceful demonstrations will be carried out in front of the Central Mosques throughout the country.

Dr. S M Rizvi, while addressing the participants of the meeting, expressed his concerns over the target killings in Quetta and Karachi.  He said that innocent civilians are dying while the politicians are fighting over their personal and party interests.  He said that this unlimited series of terrorist attacks is the clear failure of the government in establishing the government writ and inadequate security measures.

Dr. S M Rizvi demanded from the government to deal the terrorist with an iron hand and to form an independent high level judicial tribunal to investigate all terror incidents and to public the report of the tribunal.  He said that propagating the list of banned terrorist groups is not enough all such organisations should be stopped from working under the different names and should not be invited in government and political programs and media should also not give coverage to any such terrorist group in terms of responses after any unfortunate incident.

Dr. S M Rizvi said that according to the Quaid e Millat e Jafariya Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosvi there is no such thing as sectarian violence amongst Muslims in any part of the world including Pakistan, terrorists are plain terrorists and they should be dealt with in the same context, affiliating terrorists with any Muslim sect is terrorism itself.  He demanded the government to provide adequate security measures for the programs of Youm e Tarheem on this Friday throughout the country.
